Assignment Description SELECTION FOR CONSULTANTS BY THE WORLD BANK GROUP REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST Electronic Submissions through World Bank Group eConsultant2 https://wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org/wbgec/index.html ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW Assignment Title: 1274342 - Assessment of Water Distribution System in Madagascar Assignment Countries: - Madagascar ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION The objective is to provide a preliminary high-level feasibility assessment of the sub-national water distribution sector in Madagascar. This will be done by conducting a market assessment including:(i) A technical assessment of existing water distribution networks, demand and consumption trends, supply capacity, environmental and social risks, and other market enablers and constraints;(ii)A regulatory & legal review covering all national and sub-national regulations(current & pending/proposed) and laws related to Madagascars water sector including the current tariff regime;(iii)An analysis of challenges and opportunities related to the development of water distribution services including consumers willingness to pay in selected geographies; (iv)Actionable recommendations to develop of the Malagasy water distribution market including an overview of investment opportunities across the value chain and assessment of the development impact. Consultants must be English and French speakers. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS The World Bank Group now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals).
